I started wrestling at the age of 13 in junior high school. I wrestled and played football through high school and won my high school championship in wrestling. I turned pro in the wrestling ranks with out going to college through a tryout camp conducted by the Crockett Promotion of the NWA. I had an array of professionals to train with during my early years, such as Gene and Ole Anderson, Ricky Steamboat, Mike Routundo and of course Lou Thesz. I have wrestled all over the USA and Canada. I have competed in 19 tours of Japan including New Japan Pro Wrestling where I wrestled Antonio Inoki. In Japan I was ranked number 2 in the shoot fighting group UFI for 6 months. Lou Thesz managed me for 7 years and trained me to win the International Heavyweight Championship in 1990. I am a 2 time Virginia Heavyweight Champion (which I still proudly hold). I worked along side Lou at his wrestling gym for 3 years as head coach. These days I run my own gym, “Flemings” in downtown Portsmouth, Virginia. Here I train people from 16-80 in physical fitness. I offer several types of membership plans such as 3 months, 1 year, family and corporate memberships. The gym is equipped with free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment & clean his & hers locker rooms with showers. I enjoy the one on one training to help people learn how to exercise. The gym is starting its second year and I look forward to meeting and helping new members learn how to exercise. I invite everybody to come check out the gym and start getting in shape today!
